Introduction to Adobe Photoshop
Photoshop is a Graphic designing and editing software. It is the best and the most popular software to do works with graphics which was founded by Adobe company. With the tools it contains graphic designing have made easier than it was before. User friendly GUI, Easy to use tools are also major factors to Photoshop become famous. So it is the main reason most of the best designers choose Photoshop as their home. Here is a screenshot of the main inter face of the Photoshop software. Move tool (V)
This is the first tool we can see on the left side of the window opened. This tool is used for moving objects in the working area here and their. By pressing ''V'' we can directly switch to this tool. Plays a main role in Photoshop.
Marquee tool (M)
This is the main selection tool which can be use to select rectangular objects easily. Also contains another 3 options for elliptical item selection, single row & single column selections. We can activate those options by right clicking on the tool. Short cut key is 'M''
Lasso tool (L)
Lasso tool is also a selection tool. Also comes with 3 options. Lasso tool, Polygonal lasso, Magnetic lasso. Normal lasso tool is acting like a pencil. It makes a selection on the way we move the mouse pointer. Polygonal lasso tool has a slightly different feature that select direct lines. Easy for selecting polygonal shaped objects, gives the work it do from it's name by itself. If you are dealing with selections that has objects with 100% colour changes this is the best tool I recommend as a experienced designer. In another way colours acting as the teacher of this tool which moves according to colours. Use ''L'' for the short cut.
Magic wand tool (W)
One click selection tool. It is also a selection tool make it's selection according to the colour changes. From just a one click we can select a whole object with same colour. The selecting colour range can be changed according to the tolerance. [''Tolerance features will be discussed in a later post.] Use ''W'' key for easy switching to the tool.
Crop tool (C)
This is the tool used for easy cropping images. If we have a unwanted frame around a image, we can easily remove it using the crop tool. Only for rectangular and square shaped cropping. ''C' is the short cut key.
Eye dropper tool (I)
This is the colour identifying tool. It easy identify any colour on a click and it automatically make that colour foreground colour.
Healing brush tool (j)
This tool is specially used for identifying colour from a object and for replacing, colouring another object with the same colour. By Alt+Click we can add the source colour and we can used the same tool for painting objects from that source colour.
Brush tool (B)
This is the main painting tool. It can be customized according to our requirement with many preferences. Can be used for oil paintings, and different type of artistic creations. ''B'' is the short cut key.
